About Us
How We Started
In 2004, Sheila Miller (formerly Johnson), founder and president, saw a missing person mailer lying on the ground near her mailbox. When she opened her mailbox, the same mailer lay there. At that moment, the Holy Spirit gave her specific instructions to not throw away the mailer. Since that day, she has obediently collected them all. She continuously prays for each person identified on the mailer, as some of the children may become orphans or foster children.
In October 2007, the Holy Spirit impressed upon Sheila's heart to start hosting Celebrating Life birthday parties to celebrate the lives of our next generation at a local orphanage located outside the community where she grew up as a child.
In January 2009, the Holy Spirit put a deeper desire in Sheila’s heart to not only celebrate their lives, but to nurture their lives as they age out of the orphanage. On October 19, 2009, Sheila Miller (formerly Johnson) gave birth to Bridge for Life Ministries, a God-ordained Christian-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Celebrating and nurturing the lives of orphans and foster children glorifies our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, as well as illuminate the greatest among these — love.
